1. Say who’s drawing
One name, or a few. Add anything fun to throw in — a pet, a best friend, a favourite place.
It invents a story on the spot, reads it out loud, and leaves your child something to draw before it’s over — so the tablet does the talking and their hands stay busy the whole time.
No account fees to start, and no ads — ever. doodli is a kids’ app, and it is built like one.
doodli is made for the moments every parent knows — dinner still on the stove, a long car ride, the wind-down before bed. Here is what changes.
Buy yourself an hour of quiet and finally drink your coffee while it’s hot — without the guilt of your child being hypnotised by a tablet again.
Become the hero of your own amazing adventure — and draw what you hear.
Eyes glued to a screen
The story is read out loud, so their eyes go to the paper, not the tablet. Screen time ends with something to stick on the fridge.
Inventing a story when you’re exhausted
Type their name and doodli takes over, with your child as the hero. You get a real break — without the guilt.
Another episode, same as yesterday
Every story is new and ends with a mission to draw, so they listen closely, picture it, and create something of their own.
doodli was built for the half hour before bed, and for the back seat of a car — the moments when a story helps and another video doesn’t.
There is no fixed catalogue of stories underneath. Every one is written fresh, so the fiftieth is as new as the first.
Because the story is narrated rather than displayed, nobody has to hold the device. Put it down, pick up a crayon.
English, Polish, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German, each with a choice of narrator voice.
Nothing is trying to keep your child watching. The story ends, the drawing starts, and that is the whole design.
Vocabulary, story length and pacing are tuned for pre-readers and brand-new readers, not shrunk down from adult writing.
The drawing mission comes out of the story your child just heard, so it means something to them before the pencil moves.
No library to scroll, no episode to pick. You give doodli a name; it does the rest.
One name, or a few. Add anything fun to throw in — a pet, a best friend, a favourite place.
A complete story, invented on the spot around those names, in the language and narrator voice you picked.
The story plays as narration, not text on a screen. Pause, rewind, or let it run to the end.
Every story ends with a drawing mission pulled from that story — something only they could have been asked to draw.

You get a handful of stories free when you sign up, so you can hear what doodli actually sounds like before deciding anything. After that you top up with Doodles, which are what each new story costs to make. There is no advertising in the app at any tier.
No. Stories are narrated out loud and the drawing mission is read to them too, so doodli works for children who cannot read a word yet. That is the main reason it is audio-first.
Yes. There is no fixed set of stories being reshuffled — each one is written when you ask for it, around the names and details you gave. Two children with the same prompt do not get the same story.
English, Polish, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German. The language sets both the story and the narrator, and you can pick a female or male voice.
Not to try it. doodli runs in a normal browser on a phone, tablet or laptop. The app is live on the App Store now, and the Play Store version is coming soon.
Names and details are used to write that story and nothing else — they are never put in a URL, and the app does not build an advertising profile, because it does not serve ads. The privacy policy spells out exactly what is stored.
Type a name, and doodli will have a story ready before the crayons are out of the box.
